Danish quartet Mew 's dense and occasionally difficult And the Glass Handed Kites is old-fashioned only in the sense that it's meant to be eaten in a single sitting. We are delighted to announce the special edition reissue of our album 'And The Glass Handed Kites' as part of Record Store Day 2020, on Saturday September 26th.

Released via Music On Vinyl (and A:larm in Denmark) the special edition reissue will mark the fan favourite LP’s 15th anniversary – the record which won several music prizes on it’s original release, including four Danish music awards, and Gaffa’s Best Danish Album of 2005.

The exclusive Record Store Day limited edition release is a fully expanded edition of the original record, available as a 2 disk LP, and a 2 disk CD:

· The original album 2005 album including the singles 'Apocalypso', 'Special',

'Why Are You Looking Grave?' and 'The Zookeeper's Boy';

· 10 Bonus tracks, including the unreleased song “Wherefore Are You Not There”;

· 2-LP in a gatefold sleeve, including an extensive booklet with unseen pictures and liner notes;

· Limited, individually numbered edition, on black & white marbled vinyl;

To celebrate the landmark anniversary of the record, Mew will be embarking on a special 15th anniversary tour.

‘And The Glass-Handed Kites’ was written and recorded as one long sequence, with each song segueing into the next. Singer, Jonas Bjerre explains: “in all the years since its inception, we have never attempted to play this sequence of songs live in that same manner. Next year, we intend to make that attempt.”

The tour will feature music from ‘And The Glass Handed Kites’, including a selection of rarely heard B-Sides from the period of recording, as well as fan favourites from across the band’s entire catalog. Bjerre says: “Some of the songs we have never played live before, so we are very excited about this!”
